javea
Javea (also known as Xàbia) is a gorgeous seaside town on Spain’s Costa Blanca. We love it here and can’t wait to share it with you!
The first rays of the sun are caught by the capes of Javea, also known as “the dawn of Spain”.
There are three main areas which are all amazing but very different. If you’re planning on exploring or moving around a lot, we would recommend renting a car but there are taxis available and a bus between the main areas.
Javea Pueblo - The Old Town
This is Javea’s historic centre, filled with gorgeous, narrow streets and lots of character. The centre of the Old Town is the Church of San Bartolome and there’s an amazing indoor food market just next door.
Try:
- Tasca Le Rebotica for tapas
- La Trastienda de Vinos & Viandas for wine
- La Cajita Azul for tapas and music

Javea Puerto - The Port

The Port anchors the town and has a real Spanish feel to it. It’s charming and bustling and filled with great places to eat and drink, as well as some shops. Javea started as a fishing town and there are still fishing boats that come into the harbour, as well as a marina for sailing boats.
Try:
- Tal Cual, our favourite tapas spot
- Nomad for breakfast, lunch or cocktails in the sky bar
- Café Mira Luna for breakfast, lunch or a caña with all day sunshine
- Maritimo Café & Bistro for breakfast, tapas or a glass of wine
- The Beach House for water-front rooftop cocktails
- La Esquina for cocktails
Playa la Arenal
The Arenal is home to the sandy beach and loads of restaurants and bars with live music and entertainment. It’s definitely a family-friendly area with loads to do, but also great for a night out.
Try:
